Ambala Foods is a UK leading confectioner specialising in Asian sweets from Indian and Pakistani cuisines.  It was founded in 1965 by Mohammed Ali Khan who named the firm after the Indian town where he comes from. The Ambala Foods brand is known for its unique recipes and exclusively high quality ingredients 

The son of Mr. Khan, and Ambala Marketing and Business Development Director, Ashfaq Khan turned to Holbi in early 2008 with very specific requirements. He needed a fresh look and feel to his website and its mobile version that would appear ‘clean and easy’. We offered TrueLoaded (our multiple frontend solution) and eventually integrated the new design to this system. Among other requirements there were shipping fee calculation, personalised calendar and gifts feature that had to be implemented. Having completed all of the above we installed the Easy Checkout and integrated a number of SEO modules.

Fully updated Ambala website was up and running by summer 2008. Further support has been rendered by Holbi ever since and lately we started discussing our next phase of cooperation where we are intending to implement new Drop shipping option and develop an application for iPad and iPhone.

In March 2010 the company has undergone rebranding, where Holbi’s role was to make the new design of the website more eye-catching and at the same time unpretentious. It was successfully accomplished within two months and was out in May 2010. 

Holbi team applied a smartphone skin for the most popular platforms, such as Google Android, Nokia Symbian, Apple iOS, RIM Blackberry and Microsoft Windows Mobile. Smartphone Checkout was integrated with PayPal and SagePay payment systems. Other functions like Gift by occasions and Preferred delivery date were adjusted. In addition Shipping fee calculation was improved to include Saturday delivery.
